Baku

Baku is a project that has brought together teachers, artists and software developers.
Creating stop motion films is a powerful way of learning new skills, expressing ideas and unleashing creativity.

Baku is software designed for making stop-motion animation films. Baku is designed to be easily manipulated by children and teachers to help them create beautiful films.

Collaboration is at the very heart of Baku. Existing software does not provide real-time functionality for making films by teams in different locations. Baku was designed with this in mind: to make multilingual films, by groups of children from different countries: a powerful way of forging links through exciting and meaningful projects.

The roadmap includes all the features needed to create a film on a single platform: Storytelling, storyboarding, capturing and editing will all be supported.

Baku will incorporate professional expertise to help teachers and children create high-level projects without any training: Templates, professional advice, guidelines, (will be included)…

Simple, fluid user interfaces remain the goal of the Baku development team. Baku is not sophisticated software for professionals. It is built alongside teachers and artists. Baku provides all the functionality needed to create beautiful designs without the complexity of professional tools.

Children and teachers can access Baku using a browser. There is no need to install an application and access is free.
